Filtration is an important step in vinification. To minimize filtration costs and to avoid quality losses wine must be prepared by a good pre-clarification. 

If clarification and filtration problems are to be expected, for instance in cases of botrytis-infested grapes, heated grape mashes etc., an application of special enzymes is recommended.
